In about 90 minutes the Olympics will officially be underway. As will the Ravelympics. Craftspeople from around the globe join in a two week frenzy, casting on or starting their project with the opening ceremonies and finishing when the closing ceremonies occur.

I am participating in two events – Sock Hockey and WIP Dancing.

I plan to knit socks for my dad:

And if there’s time, to finish some WIPS on the go.

To all competing, whether in the sports or the fibre Olympics, Citius, Altius, Fortius.*

  1. I have my WIPs waiting. Took the socks and dress out of the bag. I am not even going to try to do anything else.

Good Luck to you, and everyone else, too.

  2. Trying again, made a mistake on my e-mail,
    d’uh.
My WIPs are waiting on the table. Had to find them from my stash room.

Not even trying to work on anything else before the two WIPs are done.

Good Luck to you and everyone else!

  3. YES! I do the same thing! Last Winter Olympics I knit 4 afghans — all the same pattern — and guess what, it is yours – the Brain Dead Afghan! I have two more of those in progress and sitting waiting for me to get back to them. I started knitting goat coats with the start of this years’ olympics. Nearly have one done, just have to do the two little legs. It’s birthing time for the goat kids and its COLD. 🙂 I enjoy reading your emails very much. best regards/Jill
