Too sick to knit?

I’ve been sick quite a bit lately – can’t seem to shake it. This time it really hit me. I got sent home from work on Friday with a fever and chills and upset tummy. I immediately collapsed into bed but couldn’t sleep because I’d taken a daytime cold reliever. “Great” I thought, “a whole day of knitting time!”

Nope. Sliding the yarn through my fingers was painful. It was like fingernails on a chalkboard. I couldn’t keep the pattern straight and it was just awful. So I made some soup and went back to bed where I slept for 6 hours.

I’m a bit better today. My sinuses are so plugged that my teeth hurt, but at least I’m not coughing (with Asthma, that’s always a tricky one) and my fever is gone.

The good news is that I’m able to knit again. I finished the main part of the Samus sweater.  I’m 90% sure that I’ll have enough yarn, but fingers crossed until the end.

What I’m not sure of is whether or not I’ll be following the patten all the way through. I’m not too keen on knitting 90 miles of icord to trim it, and I’ve never sewn in a zipper before. We’ll see how I feel about it at the end. I might just do a button band or a facing instead and then put on some Celtic clasps.
