New beginnings
The move went as well as could be expected. As predicted, the following happened:
- Clancy FREAKED out. Poor dear had never seen another apartment let alone stairs. It took about a week for her to come around and she’s still skittish but she’s getting back to some old habits
- It rained 2 of the 3 moving days. Note that it had barely rained all summer. Such is my luck.
- I felt every bit my age while lugging boxes up and down stairs.
- I had to come face to face with my “resource centre”. The yarn diet begins again.
We’re settling in and almost every box is unpacked. Still a few to go through in the storage space, but the luxury of having your own washer and dryer is nothing to be scoffed at. Even if I have to go up and down 21 steps to get to it.
I found a lot of long lost WIPS while moving, so it’s time to tackle them. One of them was a baby blanket for a co-worker. She’s going off on mat leave in 2 weeks so timing was tight.
Yarn: Bernat So Soft
Hook 4.5mm
Pattern: DROPS blanket
One of my WIPS is this same blanket in the yarn shown in the pattern. I liked it so much that I decided it would make a nice blanket. I was right
The weather is cooling down (thank goodness) so the next WIP in the pile is my Every Last Yard sweater. I put it away when the temps went over 40C (100+F). I only have about 1/2 an arm left to go so this will be a quick one.
