Silly Sari Silk Scarf

I was minding my own business the other day, quietly sitting at a guild meeting when WHAM! These colours jumped out and grabbed me. Sitting there singing a siren’s song was a beautiful piece of recycled Sari silk. I had to have it. Never mind that it was $30 for one ball, it had to go home with me.

Oh the colours, oh the texture, oh the headache!

Never underestimate the power of a nine week old kitten when one is untangling handspun silk. I didn’t think a kitten could jump that high! No matter what I tried, the silly sari silk wouldn’t cooperate. I tried knitting, crocheting, throwing it…nothing worked.

It sat on the corner of my desk and taunted me. Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah you can’t knit me. Never one to back down from a challenge, I took a hefty swig of wine and got my trusty 4.5mm hook out. I managed to wrestle it into some form of a scarf.

Never again will I listen to the siren call (yeah right!). This stuff is horrible to work with, and the colours look way better in the hank than when worked up. But it’s done. I’ve triumphed So there.
