Now that all but one of my Christmas presents are out of the way, I’m free to knit for myself and begin my spinning for the sweater. It feels like Tax Freedom Day…lol

So I sampled last night and amazingly the first time was the charm. I knitted up the gauge swatch and ta-da…DK weight and perfect gauge. Fingers crossed I can stay consistent. But truth be told, the simple nature of the sweater I picked will hide “design elements” – that’s why I picked it (plus I love it).

I bought a container to keep it in so that it would stay nice and safe. To give you an idea of how big it is, this is a 22″ wide x 15″ long x 14″ tall container – totalling 60 litres (or 63 quarts). And it’s full to the top. I decided to unroll the roving because I didn’t want it to become compressed over time. This way I can stir it around and fondle at will.

And who can resist fondling something as yummy as this – not me!

  1. Looking good! I just finished my sweater’s worth of wool spinning and now it looks like it’s going to be short in yardage (not in heaviness….).

Very pretty fiber, but I knew that.
