Deja Vu All Over Again

My good friend Kathleen has expressed concern and dismay over the fact that there has been nothing witty or exciting on ye olde blog lately. I can only blame it on three things:

1. The cursed heat and humidity just makes me want to sleep. I have asthma and this weather makes it a killer for me. I haven’t had to resort to the Ventolin yet, but it’s been close a few times. I’ve also had a very stressful week at work. I’ve been dragging my sorry butt around. In fact, last night I fell asleep on the couch at 8pm and didn’t wake up until DH came home. I only opened one eye wide enough to stumble to bed. I’ve been so tired that not so much as a stitch has been knit since Sunday! Sorry about the dark pictures – they match my mood!

2. I’m sick and tired of re-knitting the front of the cursed Knitting World Cup Sweater. I’m now on my third attempt to knit it – it’s like my brain shuts off and my fingers go into autopilot.

3. I’m going to see my father in July and I’m obsessed with determined to knit him a pair of socks before I go home. I had knit him one before, but not having noticed my father’s feet in 20 years, I knitted them a tad large (made a size 11 when his feet were a 9). He’s nagged gently reminded me a few times that he’s waiting for them. When I remarked that it was 40 degrees out and the last thing he needed was a pair of wool socks, he shot back “well you said I waited too long to tell you I wanted mittens, so I’m putting in the request now!”
