Another One Bites the Dust

Sing with me (in the key of Queen):

Sherri walks warily down the street,
With the brim pulled way down low
Aint no sound but the sound of her feet,
Knitting needles ready to go
Are you ready, are you ready for this
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat
Out of the doorway the booga’s rip
Ain’t they really neat

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I’m gonna knit for you
Another one bites the dust

Oh Yeah Lookout.

I’ll spare you the rest. Needless (or is that needles) to say I’ve finished another Christmas present. Can’t show you though in case they’re reading

This leaves me with one more to do. Then of course the Queen of Denial will rear her ugly head and decide a week before Christmas that completing an afghan is not outside the realm of possibility. You’d think I learn, but no, every year I’m frantically hopped up on caffeine, snarling at everyone in my path, accusing the cat of frogging stitches when I’m not looking….it’s not pretty. Luckily my family celebrates on the 26th, so it buys me an extra 24 precious hours.

If you’re in the mood for further singalongs, check out this post – the Gangster of Yarn. An oldie, but a goodie.

  1. I have the same pre-Christmas burst of foolhardy inspiration. I’ve been looking at the projects on my needles, knowing that I still have to knit 1 (bulky) sweater, socks for my husband and daughter, and hopefully a hat for my husband. And all that comes to me is, “Well, that’s what the week before Christmas is for.”

    Yikes.

    Nice bag!
