It’s all about timing
As you know, I’m an active member of Heartmade Blessings. I was forced onto the sidelines when my hands became increasingly painful. Not being able to help out really hurt – I know how important that this charity is to people going through rough times.
When I saw a request for a ghan come through the list for a lady who had had 3 heart attacks, I decided it was time to jump back in.
A is for Alpaca
I have a new love in my life….Alpaca
I fell in love with it while knitting the Einstein coat. I didn’t particularly enjoy that project (felt like I was knitting 90 lbs of wool all at once), but I loved the wool I bought from Knitpicks. I have had several chances to wear my sweater and it keeps me toasty down to 5C.
I went to the Creative Sewing and Needlework Festival yesterday and because roving doesn’t count to the Knit Your Stash challenge (which I freely admit I’m failing miserably), I stopped by the Green Acres Alpaca Farm booth.
Headin’ Out
I’m going to Kingston tomorrow morning for my annual weekend of Wine (sometimes Whine) Women and Wool with my friends Peggy and Janette.
I’ll be back Sunday night. Try not to get into too much trouble while I’m gone.
PS I’m learning how to knit quilts while I’m there – can’t wait! Pics to follow when I get back.
As usual, Clancy wants to come with me. This from a cat that’s afraid of the hallway!
Demented Easter bonnet
I can’t believe how freakin’ cold it is today – thank goodness I don’t have any little ones that want to go on egg hunts. I guess we got spoiled with some +10 degree weather, and it makes it even harder to go back to the -10 it is right now.
I consoled myself by starting a new project. I was snorkeling around and came across this sweater from Elann.
Feel the Love
I have a few close friends (and of course The Boy) that I could imagine doing this with. I hope that every one of you has friends like that too. The world would definately be a better place if we did.
My favourite part is what happens after they break apart.
