Are you going to KW Fair?
Today was my first trip to the Kitchener-Waterloo Knitter’s Fair. I had an absolute blast. My knitterly friends and I set out early and I had the luxury of knitting on the trip as I was not the driver – merely the entertainment 🙂
The fair was great – lots of space, vendors new and old, friends passing in the aisle, and oh, a few things may have followed me home…
From The Black Lamb:
Superwash Merino. I had bout some of this at the Knitter’s Frolic and it is a
dream to spin. I also picked up some spinning tips from Laurie – that woman is a
fountain of knowledge!
I was really good for a long time – nothing was jumping out at me…my
friends were worried there was a break in the time-space continuum. Then
The Purple Purl Happened. I have no will/won’t power with those gals – especially when confronted with a 20% off sale!
Malabrigo Worsted – Little Lovely. This is not for me – I repeat, not for me.
I swear it is for someone on my Christmas list.
Mirasol Tupa – destined for a Birthday Cowl for a co-worker
Indigo Moon – Aubergine. This is “THE” colour this year. Not sure what it
will be yet, but something yummy. The first picture is closer to the real
colour.
Malabrigo Sock – colourway Persia (I am offically a Malabrigo Ho)
At the Four Seasons Knitting
Booth, I was tempted beyond all reason
Skacel Merino Silk – 1375 yrds for $16.50 – how could I say no!
Some long sought after books were purchased at various stores along with a
couple of new ones
On the way home we stopped at the Boathouse Tearoom in Guelph. My friend Terry got me addicted to their custom tea blend, so my companions graciously agreed that a tearoom would be a great place for lunch and fortification before the long ride home. For some reason I forgot to take pictures of the tearoom, but we were served in fabulous teapots and china cups – each one different. The food was wonderful and so was the company. I can’t wait for next year!

Didn’t get the chance to go this year since we are in the final countdown to my daughter’s wedding (7 days to go). Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you! Take care
Ooo Ooo, is the Little Lovely for me? Okay so we don’t exchange gifts but it’s well named. I’m glad you had a great time and shared pictures with the rest of us.
Hey, the boathouse is great! I remember when it was still a boathouse – my brother went to sea cadets there!
