Allons-y!

It’s July, which means it’s brutally hot in Toronto (38C) and it’s time for Tour de Fleece (#tourdefleece2019)! This year I’m being more realistic than normal (with age comes wisdom?) and not overcommitting. I’m participating in two teams – Team Spindlers and Team Lantern Rouge. I’ll split my time between the wheel and the spindle as time allows.

I haven’t decided which spindle is going to play along the best (they each have their personalities), but this is the fibre I’m starting off with. It’s from TurtlePurl and it’s 65% superwash merino and 35% silk. It makes me smile just looking at it!

I spent last night cleaning up my bobbins to get ready for the wheel portion. I’ve been spinning some gorgeous Shetland from Jamieson & Smith for a Hap shawl I want to make, and it was hard to part ways. However, it will be nice to see some colour on the wheel!
