Well over the last few months I’ve been pre-occupied with work. Lots of work. Lots of stress. But in a good way. However I have trouble turning off my brain at night so I’ve been particularly prolific:
Argus Shawlette
Wendy Johnson
Malabrigo
Colourway Solis
4.0mm
Trinity Shawlette
Woolen Rabbit Harmony
4.00mm
I have some other ones completed but I can’t post because the person will figure out it’s for them. After Christmas I can though!
I’ve also been spinning a lot – it’s what I do when everything else is overwhelming me. There is something melodic about the way the wheel and the rhythmic motions.
This scrumptious bit of Blue Faced Leicester from Emily – Run don’t walk to get her fibre – just don’t get in my way!
became:
I was given this bit of heaven by another friend at the Purl. Thanks Tasha – you totally rock and I’m going to spin you something in return – name your colour!
Merino/Cashmere
It was my birthday last week and one of the traditions I started a few years ago was giving gifts to people who meant a lot to me in the previous year. It’s a hard list to whittle down because I am truly blessed to have so many people in my life that I can turn to.
This year I chose Jennifer and Miko at The Purple Purl. I can’t tell you the number of times I walked in there over the last year close to a melt down and they were waiting for me with hugs and an open heart.
So I decided to spin the yarn that represents them to me. As you can see, they are very different “people”
Miko – Alpaca/Mohair/Wool
Jennifer- Merino/Tencel
The girls gave me a lovely lunch treat today to celebrate my birthday. I’m on Weight Watchers so I’m being a good girl, so this was entirely within my points.
Well that’s rather a longer post than I had intended, but I’ve been away for so long I had lots to tell. Next weekend I’m off to visit with Keziah , so I won’t get the blog in but I’ll try to be more regular.
Glad to see you back. Lovely shawls and what a nice treat at the purl. Hope you had a wonderful birthday.

Happy belated birthday!
Your projects and yarn are beautiful, and I hope that you enjoy the pens! Did you see the Lamy 2000 while you were in Laywine’s? It’s my favourite. 🙂
Looks like you have been busy! The shawls are beautiful and you are definetely a spinning machine!
Whoa, love that 2nd shawl! The colors are very pretty. I’ve yet to do a shawl and I’m not sure why as I really do like them.
