Dude.....You're really gonna need more chairs
I stopped into Indigo today to try to make a pre-emptive strike. Really. I.Tried.To.Get.Them.To.Listen.
They didn't.
I tried to explain that Stephanie Pearl-McPhee is to the knitting world what John Lennon was to Beatles.
It didn't work.
Sigh
But she totally Rocked.
Despite her fears of sucking before her home crowd, she was amazing. I am now defending my turf against CHOKE members everywhere (you had to be there).
Here are some highlights of the evening:
Waiting for the Harlot:

Joey (who took a bus from Ohio to see Stephanie) and my friend Kathleen

Rochelle
The Knitters (the pictures speak for themselves):

The sock:

Stephanie with some of MY handspun (she thinks she sucks at spinning so I wanted to show her that she wasn't alone

The Drunken Knitters:

Today is the Yarn Crawl - pics to follow (yes I'm taking a backpack to hide the evidence!)
Addendum -
Reason #47 why I love The Boy. When I stumbled in last night he said "where were you?" I said "drunken knitters night". He nodded wisely and said "well knitters need to drink don't they".
No you can't have him.
More Addendum
The Yarn Crawl Totally Rocked. I am Totally Exhausted and Totally Broke. Going to sit in the Lazy Boy and relax for the night - pictures tomorrow.

Boy you waste no time in the posting!!!! Was a great time. IF you've not ever seen Stephanie talk it is well worth the trek out...she is very good. I too am going to be vigilant about CHOKE.
I was knitting on the subway last night after the Spotted Dick...and didn't have to rip thank you...although it was a little dodgy at some points and people at midnight pretty much thought I had 2 heads..it was really quite amusing!
See ya today on the crawl...am trying to decide which "purse" to bring myself!

I had such a blast. Sorry I couldn't stay at the Spotted Dick. The heat was really getting to me. I was so torn today between spinning and the Yarn Crawl. How did it go?

Wow! You are fast with the posting! It was good to see you again! I checked my comments section - it seemed fine as J was able to post. I am wondering if it is because of pop-up boxes? Anyway, please let me know your new email so I can send you meetup info!

I sent my mom a link to this entry on Sunday, and when I talked to her on Mon night she couldn't believe how many people were there - "So many knitters!" *lol* (Not CHOKE, just surprise *g*)

OMG, that night was SOOO much fun! Watching all of the bookstore people just standing there, watching in amazement!
I am very glad that I made the journey up there - so so worth it! I made a ton of new friends, had a BLAST, and I didn't even buy that much yarn
Can't wait to see everyone again (read, I will probably be back in September...)
Joey
